FAQs About Power Washing

  • What is power washing?

  • Power or pressure washing is an increased application of water spray that’s produced by specialty pumps. This spray is a hundred times more powerful than the typical garden hose. On concrete it is used to remove unsightly mold, bubble gum, and other contaminates that discolors these surfaces. Gray oxidized wood decks with fatigued finishes are restored to look new. And on houses, low pressure washing renews the appearance of siding (namely aluminum and vinyl) by removing pollution, mildew, and other signs of neglect.

  • What types of siding can be cleaned?

  • We can clean basically any type of siding! Stucco, vinyl, wood, aluminum, brick, block, pre-fabricated buildings and painted surfaces can all be washed with low pressure.

  • Will pressure washing damage my home?

  • Not when cleaned correctly. In fact most manufacturers recommend that you get your home washed once a year in order to extend the life of the surface. In most cases damage is caused by inexperienced washers using too much pressure on the surface. Our process of washing is a soft application on and a gentle rinse off using very little pressure. This reduces the risk of damage to your property.

  • Should I wash my house or business before I paint it?

  • Yes. Paint needs a clean surface for it to properly adhere. In some cases, homeowners mistakenly believe they need to paint when all they really need is a good cleaning! This will be cheaper than hiring a painting contractor! H2Overhaul has saved homeowners $1000's with our inexpensive service.

  • How often should I wash my home / business?

  • We recommend at least once a year. Factors such as the location of the building, amount of automobile traffic, dust, and moisture, all contributes to the frequency of cleaning.

  • Will the chemicals hurt my plants or shrubs?

  • No. By pre-wetting the shrubs and grassy areas, the danger of killing any plant life is reduced significantly. This process continues during our cleaning procedures.

  • Does anyone have to be home or at the place of business?

  • No. All procedures will be discussed with homeowners prior to starting the task. a Since we only clean the exterior of your home, you are free of being tied down by our scheduling. However, if you choose to be present, feel free to ask questions regarding our procedures.
